Job Description
My job is to initiate and implement corn production research and extension programming. My primary objective is to provide relevant, research-based information that addresses current and future issues important to Iowa producers and agronomists.
Background
I was raised in eastern Nebraska and have been very involved in my family's corn-soybean operation over the years. I earned my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Nebraska in Agronomy, with my focus in Crop Physiology. My research investigated the physiological impact of glyphosate stress to soybean growth and production. The positive experience I have had within research and extension led me to pursue a career where I could work directly with producers, agronomists, and agricultural partners to advance the science of agronomy here in the Midwest. Before joining Iowa State University, I worked as a research and extension associate in corn and soybean production for the University of Nebraska.
Because of my interest in agronomy and the international community, the advancement of agriculture in food-insecure countries is important to me. I believe agronomists have the unique opportunity to equip, teach, and provide hope to those lacking access to food or trapped in poverty.
