| Manure
management field days are in full swing by Angela Rieck-Hinz, Department of Agronomy, Iowa State University Iowa State University Extension field staff, campus faculty and staff have scheduled several manure management field days throughout Iowa. The field days provide a good opportunity to meet with Extension staff and staff from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) in an informal setting. Staff is available to answer questions about manure management structures and designs, state and federal regulations, cost share opportunities for new structures and manure nutrient management. Specific field days address research findings on the manure nitrogen and phosphorus availability to crops. Some field days require registration for meals or refreshments.
