2004 Manure Applicator Certification Workshops

Confinement site manure applicator workshops are scheduled at most county Extension offices in January and February 2004. For more information about locations, dates and times, contact your local Extension office, or visit the list of workshop dates on the web at: http://extension.agron.iastate.edu/immag/mac.html . There is no registration fee to attend a workshop. If you are not able to attend a workshop, you may meet your certification requirements by calling your county Extension office and scheduling an appointment to watch the 2-hour training video. It is anticipated videos will be available after February 1, 2004 for training.

The commercial applicator satellite downlink will be held on January 6, 2004 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in 74 county extension offices throughout the state. For a list of downlink locations please access a copy of the program brochure at: http://extension.agron.iastate.edu/immag/certification/manurebrochure.pdf If you did not receive a copy of the brochure in the mail in early December, please download the brochure, complete the registration form and mail it to the location where you plan to attend the workshop. Registration is required for this program. Commercial applicators may also meet certification requirements by scheduling an appointment at their county Extension office to watch the 3-hour training video. It is anticipated videos will be available after February 1, 2004.

In addition to the dates listed in the links above, a certification meeting for dry manure operators will be held on February 26, 2004 in Eagle Grove at Memorial Hall. This workshop will be geared for poultry producers and commercial applicators who haul dry manure. Please register for this meeting by calling (515) 294-9590 prior to February 24, 2004.
