Your
help needed in completing Minnesota survey regarding ventilation strategies
used during pit agitation and pumping from deep pit systems
David Schmidt, Extension Engineer, with the University
of Minnesota Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering Department is conducting
a survey about ventilation strategies used when pumping and agitating
manure in deep pit buildings. A second survey is being conducted to determine
specific incidences of animal deaths from pumping and agitation.
If you store manure in a deep pit (below building), please
take a moment to complete and return the first survey. If you have experienced
loss of animals during pit agitation and pumping, please complete the
second survey as well. Both surveys may be accessed at:
http://manure.coafes.umn.edu/landapp/survey.pdf . Print out the survey,
complete and mail to: David Schmidt, Department of Biosystems and Agricultural
Engineering, 1390 Eckles Ave., St. Paul, MN 55108
Thanks in advance for your help with this survey.
