Iowa State University Extension does not recommend application of manure on frozen or snow-covered ground due to the potential losses of nutrients from run-off. These photographs demonstrate what different rates of solid, beef-feedlot manure look like when surface-applied. The snow provides a contrasting background to the various application rates.
