January 4, 2008. Commercial manure applicators should plan to attend the satellite uplink program scheduled for this day. The program will start at 9 a.m. and continue until noon. Applicators must be in their seats prior to the start of the program. Currently certified commercial manure applicators received a brochure in the mail in early December listing the locations for the program. If you don't receive a brochure, contact your County Extension Office to determine workshop locations and to register for the workshop or see the brochure.

Commercial applicators are reminded they need to meet the 3 hours of required annual training prior to March 1 to avoid paying late fees when renewing their manure applicator certification license.

January-February 2008. There are 81 confinement site manure applicator workshops scheduled during this time in 72 different County Extension offices.  A complete list of workshop dates and locations can be found at: http://www.agronext.iastate.edu/immag/certification/08confdates.html. Make plans now to attend a workshop to meet your annual two hours of training to complete your manure applicator certification requirements. If you are a currently certified confinement site applicator, you should have received a brochure in the mail in December listing the dates and locations. If you did not receive a brochure, please see the link above or contact your County Extension office for a list of dates and locations.

January 23-24, 2008. Come visit us in the IMMAG booth at Iowa Pork Congress located in Hy-Vee Hall. We will have all the resources you need to have your questions answered about manure management issues in Iowa. Hope to see you there!

February 2008. Five dry manure applicator certification workshops have been scheduled in February. If you plan to attend, please contact the location where you plan to attend. Each workshop will start at 9 a.m. and end at noon. Dry manure workshops will meet certification requirements for both confinement site applicators and commercial manure applicators.
