Welcome to the monthly electronic update for the Iowa Manure Management Action Group (IMMAG) web site. This update is provided as a service to inform you about changes made to the IMMAG Web Page or items of interest dealing with manure management and air quality from animal feeding operations. If you wish to receive this mailing or have your name removed from the mailing list please contact me at (515) 294-9590 or amrieck@iastate.edu. You may also view this update with direct links on the CURRENT NEWS site on IMMAG.

CURRENT NEWS: The Current News page on the IMMAG site is updated weekly. Please check this site often for the latest news regarding animal feeding operations and manure management issues.

The Iowa Pork Producer's Association has designed and printed tags to hang on facility doors during manure pump-out and agitation. These tags are being made available to Iowa pork producers and commercial manure applicators. These tags are designed to limit confusion and increase employee safety. To request tags, please contact Tyler Bettin, IPPA Producer Education Director by calling (515) 225-7675 or email tbettin@iowapork.org. You can also visit www.iowapork.org to print your own tags.

PUBLICATIONS and REPORTS: The fall edition of the Iowa Manure Matters-Odor and Nutrient Management Newsletter has been posted to the Web. You may read the newsletter on-line. Printed copies will arrive in your mailbox later this week. Please remember, this will be the last edition of the newsletter to be printed and mailed. Beginning in December, the newsletter will only be available on the Web. To sign up for email notification of the newsletter please go to http://www.agronext.iastate.edu/immag/subscriptions.html, complete the on-line form and select "ONM Newsletter" at the bottom of the page then hit "submit".

SERVICE PROVIDERS: The list of engineering consultants, certified commercial manure application businesses, and soil and manure testing labs has recently been updated on the IMMAG Service Providers page. The list of engineering consultants includes information on services provided and types of systems designed by the engineering firms. This page also provides lists of crop consultants and manure management plan writers. If you are looking to hire someone to assist you with your manure management plan or to apply manure from your livestock operation, this page is great source of information.
