The Integrated Crop Management (ICM) website is a convenient, central location for producers to access a variety of crop production information, including: agronomy, soils and environment, weeds, integrated pest management, water quality, and grain handling and storage. Contributors to the site represent the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach crops team, which includes about 30 faculty and staff.

We produce Integrated Crop Management News, an online newsletter that highlights research efforts, and timely crop production information and management recommendations derived from research-based science. In addition, we added the Integrated Crop Management Blog in 2015, where extension specialists and agronomists personally post real-time information from the field to provide area-specific field conditions, crop progress and scouting information, personal project updates, advice and announcements.

The crops team is a dedicated Plan of Work (POW) within Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. To help facilitate programming efforts, we developed a Plan of Work table. Our current areas of interest are focused on three big issues: plant protection, soil and water quality, and production and profitability. To compliment the website’s information, the crops team offers face-to-face meetings to support our mission:

  • ICM Conference
  • Crop Advantage Series
  • Soil and Fertility and Nutrient Short Course
  • Crop Scout School
  • CCA Review
  • Ag Chemical Update
